Total is committed to ensure a safe completion of Martin Linge project

“Our thoughts go out to the families and loved ones of the victims in this very tragic accident at the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) Geoje yard in South Korea. Through this very difficult time, it is important that the project teams get all the necessary support,” says Managing Director Pierre Bang at Total E&P Norge after the crane accident yesterday, Monday 1 May.

“Safety is our core value that applies through all phases of our projects. We will thoroughly assess the impact of this accident to ensure a safe completion of the Martin Linge topsides modules and of the following phases of the project together with our partners,” Bang continues.

We will carry out all efforts to assist SHI - in charge of the overall operations and safety management system of the Geoje yard - and  TechnipFMC in identifying the root causes of this tragic accident to immediately implement the necessary preventive measures.
