Projects are being developed, exciting new licences are waiting to be explored – and both new talents and workers with experience in the field are invited to join the fun.
”We want to build up a tribe of people with technical expertise who can be professional managers in the projects. In addition, we need more younger, newly educated people. We want the whole spectrum, and I think a good age profile is important,” says Tore Bø.
Why should people apply for a job here?
”Because we are doing exciting things! And this provides more opportunities, both for our current and new employees. The work on the Hild project is the driving force, and includes nearly any challenge you could possibly imagine. In addition to high pressure and high temperatures, both the formation strength and oil quality are demanding. We also want to develop an operations model with maximum use of new technology. This drives us to create solutions that have never before been used in Norway or the TOTAL group.
What kind of solutions do you have in mind?
”We need a vessel that can receive and process the oil with a completely new TOTAL-patented process. In addition, we will have a fully-integrated platform with drilling, processing, power generation and gas compression. The production and condition of the platform will be monitored from land, and the maintenance logistics will ensure minimal downtime. We are also facing a demanding phase over several years of continuous drilling with simultaneous production of oil and gas. All of this will be realised in the near future.
Bø has worked in TOTAL for a lifetime, without feeling the need to switch employers.
”I have always had new challenges. I started when the Heimdal project was being carried out, and there was a lot of activity then due to Frigg. Afterwards, I worked with multiple Frigg projects. When you work in TOTAL, there are also a number of opportunities to travel abroad, and I have spent periods of time in both France and Africa. TOTAL gives you opportunities and responsibility, and makes sure that you continue to develop. It is a generous company, which takes care of its people,” Bø concludes.
