To achieve this, the main R&D goals are to:
• Address new challenges (Unconventional, Enhanced Oil Recovery, Greenhouse Gases, Tight Gas)
• Develop new technologies to improve our current operations and processes and thus improve oil recovery
• Optimise our operations in terms of efficiency and costs
• Preserve the environment
In order to achieve the above objectives, TOTAL’s R&D emphasises the following activities:
• Better access to more fundamental R&D through R&D partnerships
• Business partnerships taking advantage of R&D results
• Long term strategy from the first idea to the field trial
