Frigg decommissioning

The Frigg field straddles the boundary between the Norwegian and the UK continental shelves in the North Sea. Production started in September 1977 and stopped on 26 October 2004. The decommissioning work was completed in 2010 with the final reporting reporting in 2011. This Frigg site summarises the main reports issued during the decommissioning work.
Decommissioning has been an equally important part of our role as operator of the Frigg field, just as the exploration, the development and the operating phases have been. The decommissioning work has been carried out with the same high standards for health, safety and environment as during our operation of the field. The removal of the various facilities have been challenging and our main objective has been to carry out the work with great attention to safety and the environment.
