Hild – challenge accepted!

The Hild field was discovered 30 years ago, but due to the complexity of the discovery, no one has started production – until now. If everything goes according to plan, we will start production in 2016.
The project is very extensive and requires a tailored concept solution. The reservoir has high pressure/high temperatures; and strong will, expertise and innovation are required to recover the hydrocarbons.

Development solution
We are planning a technically innovative development solution and a very efficient operations model. This includes a manned production platform for gas, in combination with a storage and processing ship for oil.

The oil in the Hild reservoir has high acidity, and will, with the aid of a new TOTAL-patented method, the Water Wash Process, be prepared for export on board the ship.

The operations model involves a reduced need for staffing, which will result in lower operating costs. If everything goes according to plan, there will be approximately 16 people permanently on the platform and between 12 and 15 on the ship.

We are recruiting
Many solutions and decisions still need to be made before starting production, and we are recruiting experienced and skilled people for the job. Career opportunities

Facts about Hild
• Contains approximately 190 million barrels of oil equivalents (oil and gas)
• The field is about 42 kilometres west of Oseberg, at a water depth of 115 metres
• The discovery was made at a depth of 4000 metres, and mostly contains gas
• TOTAL’s ownership interest in the licence is 51%, Petoro owns 30% and Statoil owns 19%
